%X Vertical drifts of the F region at the dip equator are characterized by the interaction of the ionospheric plasma with the zonal electric field and the Earth's magnetic field. Abrupt variations on the drift are strongly associated with the occurrence of plasma irregularities during the nighttime periods, which are manifestations of the space weather on the ionosphere environment involving the solar-terrestrial interaction without necessarily, require magnetic storms. In this context, the Brazilian Space Weather Study and Monitoring Program (Embrace) of the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) has been developing different indexes that describe these ionospheric effects in the Brazilian sector. Therefore, the main purpose of this work was to produce a new ionospheric scale based on the analysis of the ionospheric plasma drift velocity. Thus, it was developed a careful analysis using the virtual height parameter, hF. This ionospheric parameter is provided by a high frequency radar, or Digisonde, for the near equatorial region, São Luís (2°S, 44° O, I: -2.3°). In this study we analyzed 10 years of data divided in season, magnetic activity and phase of the solar cycle in order to construct a standardized scale. The results of this new index allow us evaluating the impacts of ionospheric phenomena in the Space Weather environment recently.
